Every so often I put a call out to my readers to help me out here on my blog. I try to keep this to a minimum because I don't want to seem needy, but I do need you, Dear Reader. Today I need you to help me a little bit with the focus of my blog as it related to advertisements. I need to know what products you value most so I can sell advertising space most efficiently. All it takes is for you to leave me a comment and answer one question:
.
Tell me about the last 2-3 things that you have purchased or thought about purchasing related to your martial arts practice.
Don't need to buy much, not really. Just bought a couple of inconsequential uniform items to wear at association seminars--not that I ever get to go, but hope springs eternal. I'd like to buy a nice, tapered, hickory jo from Kingfisher Woodworks, but I'm still saving my nickels. I'd like to complete my set of Seiyu Oyata's videotapes, and someone--got 'im bookmarked somewhere--sells what looks like(if his Youtube clips are any indication) a really interesting DVD on Chito-Ryu Sanchin.
ReplyDeleteOther than that, I honestly don't know that I haven't got it all... :)

ReplyDeleteOddly enough, my recent purchases include a hickory jo and bokken from Kingfisher Woodworks! Also, a few Judo and Aikido books, and my most recently, a throwing/grappling dummy.
ReplyDeleteOh well, I bought some fabric, a book of quilting patterns and techniques, and a few yards of fabric.
ReplyDeleteOh wait, you said related to my martial arts practise?
Um. A gi. Oh, and a support bandages to wrap my wrist when I was having some tendonitis type issues. I also got Nick Lowry's book. That's pretty much it. I don't need much. Except more fabric. But that's got nothing to do with Aikido.
yes. I'm in a silly mood. Probably because I'm so exhausted. Feel free to just ignore me.
5 of the Masterclass judo books, the 2007 Judo World Championship DVD, and Igor Yakimov's three DVD sets on Russian Sambo.
ReplyDeleteI haven't bought many books or videos recently. I had to purchase some additional training items for my son's Kung Fu Panda birthday party, but aside from that I've got most of what I need. My gi is getting a little worse for wear - though some might like that look. I like the rising sun brand - but check out that price! I'll need a new gi soon. Colin
ReplyDeleteI mainly buy books, videos, and certain clothing items. On the latter they are usually for training but I can see some people wanting just for fun t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteBobby P.
I have not purchased anything recently, but I would say that I'm most interested in gi, gear such as gloves, etc., and books. Books are pretty important, actually.
ReplyDeleteHmm...I haven't bought anything too recently, unless you count school t-shirts. My current personal collection includes my dobok, a pair of bahng mahng ees, my sparring gear (foam helmet, chest protector, hand- and foot-guards, mouthguard), a pair of boxing gloves, two pairs of fingerless kickboxing gloves, an elbow brace, various clothing and a large duffel bag to haul it all around. Oh, and I have a standing heavy bag in my garage, too.
ReplyDeleteCompetition judogis and judo books.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a gi from tozando and a gi from hsu.
ReplyDeleteI really like the seersucker gi from tozando.
I pretty much only buy gis. One of the things I like about BJJ is that there isn't a lot to buy.
ReplyDeleteOh, anti germ stuff.
